EGNOS V3 Site Survey
In the frame of the update and extension of EGNOS ground segment, Vitrociset Belgium and its partner Telespazio and Thalès France are in charge of the preliminary site survey before the deployment of the new system EGNOS V3.

European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service (EGNOS) is Europe's regional satellite-based augmentation system (SBAS) that is used to improve the performance of global navigation satellite systems (GNSS).

For the third generation of the EGNOS augmentation system (V3), the GSA requested the complete overhaul of the EGNOS ground segment, which was becoming obsolete. Before the new generation can be deployed, each existing and new potential site should be surveyed for compliance with the high level of specification requirement of the new system in terms of infrastructure, connectivity, security and EMI compatibility.

These activities are the object of a contract awarded by GSA to a consortium of companies lead by VTCB.

I am a Human Research Science Coordinator and coordinate scientific studies on ESA ground platforms (parabolic flights, isolation and confinement, bedrest, radiation, topical teams )and on the International Space Station.
ESA has wonderful conditions: the office conditions, equipment and software available to work are of good value and allow efficiency and quality work. The facilities are one of the kind, from the sport centre (with cafe/bar, clean facilities and many kinds of sport and classes available, including football fields and a pool) to all clubs available for leisure (sailing, golf, football, photography, art, etc).  There are three also canteens available, all with complete meals and many options for all diets. The location is close to the beach (10min walk), which offers the opportunity for nice walks outside of office hours. The employees are pleasant and share passion for their jobs, which creates a positive work environment.
